August 25, 2007: Holly & Matt

Holly was so much fun to work with! She had a definite vision for what she wanted the day to look & feel like! Her theme was whimsical! She wanted to use very simple, natural, light arrangments throught the event. Something very unexpected & refreshing! We used peonies, cymbidium orchids, Anna roses, & lisianthus (to name a few) in shades of pale pink to create her arrangements for the day. We wanted all of the flowers to be airy & have movement, not to be packed tight with a really formal look or feel. The main arrangment of the day was the "Dedication Tree." This is a concept that the bride came up with & I brought it to life! We composed a tree out of dried branches & adorned it with crystals, ribbon, & orchid blooms. We then hung pictures of the bride & groom's parents & grandparents on their wedding days. The bride made a plaque to attach to the front of the vase that said: "In dedication to our parents & grandparents for all their love; in remembrance to those who are no longer with us to celebrate this day." It was really amazing! The ceremony & reception were held at Longview Mansion.

August 25, 2007: Kendra & Ernie

This past weekend I had two weddings, with two completely different feels! The first was Kendra & Ernie. Kendra brought me tons of pictures to our first consultation which gave me a great idea of exactly what she was looking for. She wanted lots of hydrangea in shades of blue & green, with other flowers to coordinate. Her bouquet was composed of blue hydrangea, white roses, green cymbidium orchids, blue iris & delphinium. Her centerpieces were a collection of different sizes & styles, using combinations of flowers from her bouquet. Overall we used about 150 stems of hydrangea, 50 orchid blooms, 150 Vendela roses, & filled 99 vases to decorate her reception!!
The wedding was held at Boone Tabernacle & the reception was held at The George Meyn Community Center in Wyandotte County Park.

New to Blogging!

Here it goes...my first steps into the blogging world! I have seen & heard of a lot of people blogging lately, so I thought I would give it a try. My hopes for this blog are to show current, future, & potential brides the types of arrangements I do for different events. I don't get a chance to update my website with new pictures very often, so I thought this would be a way to put some new pics out for you to see. I am hoping to have bouquets, centerpieces, & other arrangments from each wedding I do to put up here every week. Check back weekly, as I have weddings almost every weekend between now & November. Please leave comments, I would love to hear what you think! I hope you enjoy it!
