September 23rd: Bailey &

The bride & groom held their ceremony on Sunday at Loose Park in Kansas City, MO. The bride chose a palette of pinks for the flowers. We used Orlando Roses, Sweet Pea, Hydrangea, Cymbidium Orchids, & Mini-Callas. The bride's bouquet had rhinestone accents in the flowers & on the stems. The bridesmaids wore black dresses with a raspberry pink sash. The flowers really stood out against the dresses!
The reception was held at Staley Farms. The bride didn't want the same style of centerpieces for all of the tables, so we mixed it up using 3 different settings. On some tables we did large, wide, cylinder vases with full stems of Cymbidium Orchids placed inside of the vase. Another style we used were the cube vases wrapped with bear grass & topped with Cymbidium Orchids or floating candles. For tables with these vases, each centerpiece was made up of 4 vases. Some tables were oblong, so we stretched the vases out in a row, others were small rounds so we put them together in a square shape. The remaining tables were decorated with cylinder vases filled with submerged flowers & topped with floating candles.

September 22nd: Sunset Wedding

This wedding was set upon the theme of the sunset. The bride's flowers were chosen by selecting shades of the sunset like coral, peach, & soft yellow. We used 3 different shades of roses, gerber daisies, godetia, mini-callas, & cymbidium orchids. The bride had small pictures of both her & the groom's grandparents placed in miniature frames & had them hang from her bouquet & the groom's boutoineer in memory. The wedding & reception were held at a beautiful family home in Bucyrus, KS.

September 22nd: Jennifer & Ian

Jennifer was the only bride I had this weekend that opted for a fall theme. Everything turned out gorgeous! Jennifer's bouquet was a mixture of Sahara & Vendela Roses with accents of Green Hydrangea & Stars of Bethlehem. The bridesmaids wore red gowns with ivory sashes & carried vibrant bouquets of Tropical Amazon Roses, Dahlias, Rosehips, Bittersweet, & Crocosmia. The flower girl carried a pomander of Mango Spray Roses. The wedding was at Countryside Christian Church & the reception was held at The Doubletree Corporate Woods.

Jennifer was referred to me by photographer, Rebecca Peters. Rebecca does a wonderful job & I can't wait to see the pictures! You can check out her blog at http://rpetersphotography.squarespace.com/
I am always looking at her latest shoots. Her blog is actually what inspired me to start mine!

September 22nd: Amy & Steve

Who says fall weddings have to be fall colors??? Not this weekend! My first delivery of the day was for Amy & Steve's wedding. Amy chose a palette of purples, shades ranging from lavender to eggplant. Her bouquet was composed of Dahlias, Mini-Calla Lillies, Roses, Freesia, & Lisianthus. Instead of bridesmaid bouquets, Amy wanted to something a little different so we created wrist corsages with a single Dahlia bloom & added accents of purple beading. You can see some of the beading in the bride's bouquet as well. The ceremony was held at 1st Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, MO.

September 15th: Jamie & Andrew

Jamie & Andrew's wedding & reception were held at The Doubletree at Corporate Woods. The wedding was in the courtyard, which was a beautiful spot! Lots of trees serve as the backdrop & the bride had rented a pergola to serve as the "altar" area for the ceremony. Her colors were yellow & orange and her flower selection included Circus Roses, Yellow Mini-Callas, Oncidium Orchids, Bittersweet, & Tiger Lillies. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the bouquets, but, the bride carried Vendela Roses with accents of Circus Roses & Bittersweet. The maid of honor carried Yellow Mini-Callas surrounded by a ring of Circus Roses. The bridesmaids carried Yellow Mini-Callas with Bittersweet accents. I did get pictures of her pergola decorations & altar flowers as seen above.

September 15th: Rose & Joe

These two were a breeze to work with! They are both students at K-State, so a lot of our planning was done via email. Rose would send me pictures of things she liked & I would add them to her file. We met once to put her order together & then a quick 15 minutes to finalize a couple of weeks before their event! Her color scheme was amazing! Deep fall tones of burnt orange, chocolate brown, sage green, & hints of gold. The bride's bouquet was composed of Leonida roses, chocolate cosmos, cymbidium orchids, hypericum berries, & kangaroo paws. At the reception, we did 3 different styles of centerpieces. The first was large cylinder vases filled with orange Mokara orchids & topped with floating candles. The second was a set of 3 various height cylinders, also filled with orchids & floating candles. The third was a vase with an assortment of flowers in her color scheme. The wedding was at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on 119th & Lowell. The reception was at Bachnallia.

September 14th: Jamie & John

Jamie & John's event was held at the Simpson House in Kansas City, MO. Jamie was looking for a very simplistic, shabby chic look & loved babies breath! For the bride's bouquet, I used roughly 30 Vendela roses, crystal inserts, & wove curly willow stems around the outside of the bouquet. Her bridesmaids carried bouquets of babies breath with bear grass loops around the outer edges. A babies breath wreath was hung on the front door of the house with a sage green sash. Jamie was brought to me by a wedding coordinator named Melanie at Allenbrand Events. This is the second event I have worked with Melanie on & she is great! I am happy to pass on her info to anyone that is interested.

September 9th: Erin & Kenny

Erin & Kenny chose to use deep, fall tones for their event. I love using fall colors! The bride's bouquet was composed of Leonida & Black Magic roses, Hypericum berries, Kermit poms, Naomi mini-callas, Cymbidium orchids, & spray roses. For the bridesmaids, we did a twist on the traditional standard Calla Lily bouquet. We used 5 stems of callas & created "collars" around the base of the blooms with green Hypericum berries & Safari Sunset. Their event was held at The Villa in Kansas City, MO.

September 2nd: Shonna & Justin

Where do I start??? I had so much fun with this event & loved working with Shonna! She was truly the type of bride every florist dreams of! In our meetings we did more brainstorming than anything, making lists of things she liked/disliked, the overall look/feel she was trying to acheive, compiling pictures of arrangments that she liked certain elements of but didn't want to duplicate. At the end she said, "I trust you, just do whatever." That was music to my ears! Finally, a chance to be truly creative & have fun! Don't get me wrong, I love my job & have fun with every event, but to have free reign to actually "create" something is awesome!

We finally agreed that the look/feel we were trying to acheive was a fun, flirty, almost Moulin-Rouge-ish style. Her color scheme was black, white, & deep red. From that I created her bouquet using Black Magic Roses, Red Mini Callas, Chocolate Cosmos, Cymbidium Orchids, crystals, & black feathers. It was gorgeous!!! If I were to get married again, I just might carry this bouquet! I loved it!

For the bridesmaids, we used the same flower selection but used white flowers instead of red. We still used the crystals & feathers & wrapped the stems in black ribbon.

Her altar arrangment was huge! It was composed of over 30 stems of long-stemmed, open-cut calla lillies & surrounded by a wreath of Black Magic Roses & carnations. It literally weighed upwards of 50 pounds & was a beast to deliver!

Shonna's ceremony & reception were at Hotel Phillips.

September 1st: Michelle & Juan

Black Magic Roses seemed to be the theme of the weekend! I used them in all 3 weddings! Michelle took advantage of the rose special that I offer. We used over 650 roses to make the arrangments for her ceremony & reception! Her bouquet was all Black Magic Roses while the bridesmaids carried bouquets of Escimo Roses. She had two different styles of centerpieces at her reception. We placed rose bowls filled with Black Magic Roses on 1/2 of the tables & did cylinder trios filled with red rose petals & floating candles on the other 1/2. Her cake was huge! A wonderful display by Iced Art, we filled in between each layer of cake with a layer of (you guessed it!) Black Magic Roses! The ceremony was held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the reception was at Mission Theatre.

September 1st: Stacy & Bennett

Labor Day Weekend was a popular weekend for me! I had 3 weddings over Saturday & Sunday, Stacy & Bennett were the first of the day on Saturday. Stacy wanted to use Black Magic Roses & Stephanotis for her bouquet & then have the Black Magics carried out through the rest of the event. She provided me with some amazing pew cones that we filled with a combination of roses & carnations. She was also able to use these as centerpieces at her reception. What a great way to make double use of her decorations! Her other centerpieces were "trees" composed of curly willow with Black Magic rose blooms attached here & there to give a blooming branch effect. Their ceremony was at St. Therese Little Flower and the reception was held at Little Theatre.
